2006 Nitro Buggy Pointscore Series Round # 6

Another great night of racing at OCR Raceway, it was always going to be a tough job to come back with something special after the huge success of the the 2006 Top End Nitro Challenge, but as usual the local drivers put on another great show of no holds barred Nitro offroad action, for the sizeable crowd of spectators. Overall pointscore series leader Duy Bui having won every round of the 2006 series, now has an almost unbeatable lead over second place Tony Knauth, with Tam Bui currently in 3 place overall. Eleven year old Henry Bui the only junior racing at this event finished a very creditable 7th overall with his Maxpower, Xray XB8 combo. The RTR Buggy class saw Shaun Rawlings take a very healthy win over 2nd place Sean Mazlin, both running Sacker Pro RTR cars. Friday night saw the return of the awesome 1/8 Stadium trucks again, with newcomer to the class Ken Gilchrist putting on a show for the crowd with his Ninja powered HN X1CRT Pro, taking 3rd place behind always fast Phil Ciccone in 2nd and Tony Knauth in first.
