The main downside is that plants and critters tend to be fairly scarce as most of the map starts below their minimum survival temperature, meaning that they just don't spawn. WebOxyferns. It requires a whole new supply chain for oxygen. There is no algae without exploring outside of the biome, which I avoided because theoretically the initial biome should be able to support life. Instead, you'll rely on oxyferns which consume carbon dioxide and output oxygen.
