I was considering purchasing the TWM short shifter full assembly but was wondering if it is really worth the money or if I should go with one of the various SS adapters. Any opinions on this would be appreciated. Either way I am going to buy a weighted knob, cable, and base bushings.

I also got their base bushings and a Big Type R heavy weight shift knob, the shifter feeling is so much better than the stock one! They state that the throw is reduced by 40% and lowers the stick by 2 inches. Comes with "tools", stepped bushings, and machined shoulder bolts. WebJan 2, 2006 · just got the TWM for Xmas, F'ing awesome, I had it installed in ~45 minutes. Its a 35% throw reduction and 1" shorter shaft, others are up to 58% but I can't see me driving with that much reduction. 35% is enough for me. WebNov 1, 2011 · I have the twm short shifter for my 2004. The shifter kit comes with aluminum bushings that reduce some of that rubbery feel. I got the shifter extension and prefer it over the short feel. The shifter height is slightly taller than stock and shifts quick and crisp. Get the corksport rear motor mount insert, and the car feels solid as it should.

I just pushed the heat shield back and had plenty of access to the shifter. The TWM shifter install is extremely straight forward and easy. The negatives come with the TiC bushings.
